Triumph

Triumph represents the struggle in the world between good (the eagle) and evil (the serpent). The eagle is holding the serpent by the tail (to dominate) as opposed to the head (which would kill), which illustrates that evil can never be eliminated from the world. The wounds on the serpent show that the fight is brutal.

This sculpture depicts the artist’s belief that although the fight is ongoing, good can ultimately triumph.
