This sculpture of a nursing mother is made from a single piece of wood, a knot and two branches. It hangs elevated on a curving driftwood arm that represents the umbilical cord and a driftwood base that represents the womb. Mother is elevated because the artist believes that motherhood elevates the spirit of a woman. It is mounted on a black granite base.
